Companies come to me for help with a wide range of challenges. Some want to reduce training's costs, without reducing its quality. Others need to prove training's value and predict its ROI before implementing training programs. Some companies strive to improve their management team, organizational processes, consistency, and/or time management skills through customized training. Here are a few of the challenges that I've recently encountered.
Project Management Training: A Customized, Immersive, and Integrated Training Approach
A well-established, profitable and growing company has recently launched five major initiatives. They called me in when they realized their organization is inconsistent in the way they manage and review their diverse roster of projects. Their company's approach to project management needed to be reworked and their project teams needed retraining around this new approach. I am creating a customized, immersive, integrated solution based on this organization's specific needs. First, I held a series of meetings with the company's executive team to get them on board with the new approach. As part of my contract, I created nine project management templates to guide them in a variety of initiatives, increasing consistency across all work teams and projects. Soon, I will hold a workshop, teaching the team about utilizing the templates and implementing the new project management approach. The program also entails a customized two-day project management course. Finally, I will coach the participant post program, ensuring training transfer. In other words, we will make sure participants successfully implement and integrate skills from the training into their work behaviors. In this instance, I am providing custom design and development, helping them through the entire process - from developing pre-course materials to ensuring post-course training transfer.
Time Management Training: A Custom Training Approach to Improving Efficiencies
A smaller firm is experiencing a major growth spurt. They're overseeing so many projects simultaneously that the CEO wanted their top 20 managers to improve their time management skills. I will be delivering a 2-hour time management workshop to train their team. I will also follow-up with a "how are we doing" training transfer session to ensure the skills are being applied as planned.
Facilitation Services: Modernizing a Client's Approach to Leadership, Development and Competency
Last year, I partnered with a national chain focused on Enterprise Learning. This company chain prides themselves on developing multiple levels managers. They were using an extensive Toolbox, which hadn't been examined - or redesigned - in five years. I worked with the company's training department to modernize their approach to leadership development and competency, updating their Toolbox as part of the process.
